Roxanne
E. Jervis grew up in Kitchener, Ontario.
Her interest in art led her to study with full-time artists
M.F.Kousal, Peter Etril Snyder, Devona Paquette, Virgil Burnett and
D.R.Hall. She studied
at the University of Waterloo and the Doon School of Fine Art.
Roxanne is considered an "Itinerary Artist" which
allows her to explore the world and paint what she sees and feels,
using the medium which inspires her. She shares her
experiences with you through her art.
Growing up in Waterloo County,
amidst the lush countryside and its changing seasons, imprinted on
her the beauty both in the landscape and architecture around her.
As such, her diversity in style changes dramatically with the
medium. Her range
covers bold landscapes in oil, gentle gardens with buildings
in acrylic as well as impressionistic landscape, and pen and ink
work.

The palette knife; a flexible
steel blade; is what Roxanne uses to create her oil paintings,
a technique which uses a lot of paint and gives a bold,
textured finish. When she travels, acrylic, applied with
a brush, is her medium. After a trip to France summer
2001 and a visit with the artist Carol Farmer, her mixed
medium technique was added to her portfolio.
She is also an accomplished photographer.
