 Welcome to my web site.  

My work has taken a very exciting turn.  I am an artist who paints traditional landscape in oil without a brush, but a palette knife.  This is a flexible steel blade.   The work is bold and textured with strong colour.    

My impressionistic landscapes are done in acrylic with some mixed medium.  They tend to be 30"x30" or larger.  The colour layering controls the outcome of the works which totally engross me during the process.  These were inspired by my trips to France and Cornwall, England.

A new technique I am developing uses six different mediums to build the piece.  The "Guilguiffin Hydrangeas" is the first series in which this technique was used.  The Guilguiffin is a Chateau in Brittany, France.

April 2003:  On a recent trip to North Carolina in the United States, corrections to my sketches opened my eyes to a  totally different composition approach. . . . .  Imagine early spring wherein the trees on the mountain slopes are just starting to change colour.  The willow trees, being first to show off, stand out, singularly, on the hillsides. . . .  I have started to  work on this new series.
